A NATIONAL DISASTER!!!!!!!!!

On last friday Pipe River Mine near Greymouth there was an explosion! 2 miners managed to escape, but 29 are still traped! The explosion released poisonous gas which means that the rescuers  can not enter the mine. Thats not all! Yesterday around 2:15 there was a 2nd explosion! Now every body believes that there was no chance of survivers! It may be weeks untill anybody can recover the bodies. For all those families who have lost a loved one I would like to say I am very sorry for what happened and I'm sure lots of people are and have there thoughts with you!

A visiter from above

On Tuesday before school we went outside after Mrs. C told us there was a parachuter fly low above the school! We all ran outside and steered at it enviously. It was great the man waved at us while the teachers took photos! Sometimes he would fly so low it looked like he was going to land on our feild!!

Red nose day

On Friday was red nose day. I thought it was real fun because we got to watch a movie. Red nose day is a day that comes once a year to help support the cure kids foundation. Cure kids foundation is a lot of kids around New Zealand who have a serious medical problem like for example cancer. Some of our school wore a red nose all day and most of us dressed up in red! It was a fun day!

The giant weta is only found around King Country (Where I live) in New Zealand. It can live for 3-4 years and ways around 70grams. It is also the largest type of weta that has ever lived!

This is a face on veiw of the giant weta!!

A book reveiw

My reading group has just finished reading a great novel by Sarah Ells it was called When the war came home.

It was about a boy called Jimmy who lived in Auckland with his uncle but then an epidemic spread around the city that forced the two to sail away to a island. That where they meet a girl called Adele and find out that the people they went to see were dead. Then the uncle gets sick and its up to Jimmy and Adele to sail back to Auckland to seek medical attention. Of course like most books it had a happy ending.

I thought it was a really good book and would rate it 8/10.
